The Webcomic Holiday Gift Guide

I might as well start getting paid a stipend from Comics Alliance with all the links I’ve been putting up at this site, but man are they in my wheelhouse lately. And this one has an added perk as it was written by gool ol’ Lauren Davis of Storming the Tower (which has been updated lately) and io9. It’s the Comics Alliance Webcomic Gift Guide, with merch ranging from the Cat and Girl Schoolpack to Dinosaur Comics magnets! There might also be some webcomic print collections in there too!

What, Ms. Davis, no Ctrl+Alt+Del Wintereenmas “Throne of Games” baby tee?

Yeah, let’s forget I said that.

About El Santo

Somehow ended up reading and reviewing almost 300 different webcomics. Life is funny, huh? Despite owning two masks, is not actually a luchador.

  1. * ahem, ahem*. There’s some very fine coffee mugs and buttons over at if you’re looking for some truly independent basement produced web comic gifts.

Wow. Can’t get any more shameless than that. Sorry about that.

    • Go right ahead and plug! It’s Christmas, our consumerist holiday!

In fact, if anyone else wants to plug their products in the comments section here, go right ahead. I think I might compile them next week in my own Gift Giving guide. 🙂

  2. but winteenmas is after holidays,,,,,

intereenmas is a string of Holidays started in the Ctrl+Alt+Del comic strip by Tim Buckley. It covers seven days of gaming, each featuring a specific genre and having an emblematic “spirit” over it. The holiday lasts from January 25th to 31st each year.

    * January 25th: Adventure games, symbolized by a man dressed as Indiana Jones.

    * January 26th: First Person Shooter (FPS) games, with a 21 year-old sleep deprived gamer as its symbol.

    * January 27th: Fighting games, represented by a martial artist with too many blows to the head

    * January 28th: Real-time Strategy (RTS) games, whose emblem is a large bearded man with a pocket protector inside another pocket protector.

    * January 29th: Racing games, shown as a racer with old-fashioned racing helmet and racing goggles holding a detached steering wheel.

    * January 30th: Role Playing Games (RPGs), depicted as an elf-like woman holding floating dice above her left hand.

    * January 31st: Sports games, with a round, middle-aged man wearing a #10 jersey and holding a beer bottle in each hand as its emblem.

  3. There just one thing I’ve always wondered about Wintereenmas; how the hell do you pronounce it?

  4. Get your dose of corporate humor. Meet Mr. Konundrum & his imaginary friend Mr. Komon Sen in SHRM India’s weekly webcomic ‘Life of Mr. Konundrum’.
