The 2008 Weblog Award Finalists!

Happy 2009! As we ring in the new year, here’s a friendly reminder of the 2008 Weblog Awards. Finalists have been announced, and the voting commences in two days. Here are your nominees for Best Comic Strip:

I’m not a huge fan of any of those (I’m fond of Medium Large, but not a HUGE fan), but my money is on either Dilbert or xkcd, again.

Also, friend of The Webcomic Overlook The Comics Curmudgeon is in the running for the highly competitive category of Best Humor Blog.

More information can be found on the Weblog Awards site.

UPDATE: Voting is open NOW! Cast your vote here. As of this posting, the leading candidate is Garfield MINUS Garfield.

About El Santo

Somehow ended up reading and reviewing almost 300 different webcomics. Life is funny, huh? Despite owning two masks, is not actually a luchador.

  1. what are you a fan of?

I enjoy the artwork of calamatis by nature..but apparently this is a popularity contest=)

  2. I guess I’m more a big fan of plot-oriented long-form webcomics like Gunnerkrigg Court and Scary Go Round. As for the shorty humor ones, my faves are doodly things like Savage Chickens, chainsawsuit, and the journals of both Kate Beaton and Nedroid.

So basically pretty much everything I give 5 stars on this site. 🙂

  3. What an odd list… A little this, a little that; some stuff nominated by the Eisner Award people…

I think someone meant to type “Garfield MINUS Garfield.”

It’s the successor strip to minus, about when she is swallowed by a tabby cat and makes him hallucinate a tedious, droning roommate who isn’t really there.

  4. You cheeky bugger. 😉

Thanks for the heads up. Error fixed.
